可是如果想想句子的結構就不懂了
希望大大可以分析一下結構

不太懂 whose this was 的地方

應該是whose money (which) this was

關係子句: whose money this was 先暫時這樣子看原句->(直述句/非關係子句)this was their money (我暫用their，較方便，特別是前頭已經有提到the people)their: (就是指前頭的the people) the people's轉成關係子句，將 their money (/ the people's money) 前移，然後用 whose 代 "their(/the people's)"
