以下是我在線上拉法字典裏看到的解釋，供您作參考：
certus 其中有個含意是「確信（certain）、知曉（au courant de）」
在這個含意下的例子有：
（僅舉與 facere 有相關的；另將法文解釋部分譯成英文）
certiorem facere aliquem alicui rei = inform sb. of sth.
certiorem facere aliquem + inf. = inform sb. that...
certior factus + prop.inf. = informed that...（注：prop.inf.指不定式子句）
certiorem facere (ut) + subj. = order to
至於 facio 一條，也有：
facere aliquem certiorem = inform sb.
