About 141 people were arrested at a fitness centre popular with gay men in the
north of Jakarta.
Police raided the Atlantis Gym in the Indonesian capital on Sunday night at 7.
30pm. They detained 141 people for allegedly violating the country’s rough an
ti-pornography laws.
A source told Gay Star News the gym can attract up to 500 gay men at a time.
Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Nasriadi Wolves Reskrim told medi
a they raided an allegedly party called ‘The Wild One’.
AKBP Nasriadi alleged guests paid Rp185,000 to get into the party. He also sai
d police gathered evidence at the scene, which include promotional materials f
or the party.
