Position Description:
A Care Program Manager for Global Product Development is a direct report to a
Senior Manager of Program Management and serves as a lead for after-market
service of Smartphone new product introductions. The core focus of the role
is to ensure Care programs are launched on time with the best quality
possible. This role will entail ownership and accountability to execute on an
agreed upon schedule with all pertinent parties. This role is also
responsible for reporting of program status, issues and risks, following and
enforcing our gated development procedures, managing resources, supporting
programs post launch, and being able to handle special requests from all
levels of management.
Position Requirements:
- Care team leader: This will be demonstrated by a track record of managing
complex programs to meet the needs of the business. In particular, Nokia/HMD
is interested in a candidate who has a successful track record of
successfully launching large scale programs, tackling all types of issues in
an effective manner and bringing a winning attitude to the role. He/She would
have shown the ability to collaborate with internal and external resources to
drive execution and achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced
setting.
- Results Orientation: In particular, the company is interested in candidates
with a successful track record of collaborating with the carrier, ODM and
internal stakeholders, understanding the tradeoffs between three parties’
priorities, helping the leadership team make decisions regarding go forward
investments and then operationalizing the agreed upon product and portfolio
plan with the Carrier.
- Collaboration & Influencing: Given that the role entails driving alignment
across multiple functional units in an organizational setting that thrives on
innovation and change, the ideal candidate would have demonstrated a
willingness to drive a provocative change agenda while building / maintaining
credible relationships with key stakeholders and meeting performance
requirements. This requires a track record of quickly building trust through
mastery of detail, creating open channels of communication and creating
impact without direct authority. The candidate would have also shown that his
/ her interpersonal and communications skills are effective across the full
range of audiences, from the executive committee to junior employees, from
individual interaction to very large groups, and from creative to highly
analytical discussions.
- Team Leadership: The successful candidate will have shown the ability to
create an environment of high achievement where individuals take initiative
and push themselves beyond their comfort zone. As Nokia/HMD transforms itself
into a leading player in the mobility space, the successful candidate needs
to have demonstrated a consistent ability to attract, assess, select,
develop, motivate and retain talent in a fast moving organization.
Need engineering-related background, OPT & H1B are acceptable.
