You have to become "something", or you'll have to say "no matter how adj. Pete becomes,..."

how 後面要接東西

你可以想成Pete becomes what和becomes how…你自已感覺得哪個比較說得通順？how後面通常會再加個形容詞,中文是"不管他變得多..."如1F所言,例如"不管他變成多暴躁的/多窮的/多糟的"都是結論是這句的how後面少了一個形容詞,語意會不完整
