Tesla owner catches valet service taking his Model S on a joy ride with
energy usage logs
Bob Wolin, a Tesla Model S owner in Houston, was surprised to see an
impressive spike in energy consumption after taking his car back from the
valet service at Vic and Anthony’s Steakhouse last weekend.
Wolin quickly came to the conclusion that the valet took his Model S on a joy
ride. As evidenced by the energy usage widget, he estimates that the valet
floored his Model S and reached speeds of around 90 mph.
That’s why Tesla introduced ‘Valet Mode’, which limits power and
acceleration to 25% (80KW), top speed to 70 mph, and disable certain
settings. It even locks the glove box.
A Tesla owner even created alerts to show on the screen through the browser
when using the ‘Valet Mode’ in order to discourage any misuse of the
vehicle.
As for Wolin’s case, he made a complaint to Vic and Anthony’s Steakhouse
and their valet service, which is managed by a separate company, but it doesn
’t seem to be going anywhere. He also requested to get the full logs from
Tesla in order to know exactly what happened during the joy ride.
It’s still interesting that he managed to figure it out without the full
logs, but through monitoring the energy consumption app, which is not
something you can do in most vehicles.
In conclusion, it’s better not to take any chances and activate the ‘Valet
Mode’.

可以限制功率、加速度在25%，手套箱不能開啟，限制最大速度
記得以前看過這功能介紹的時候還有說能限制行駛里程
中央螢幕還會出現教學教泊車小弟如何使用代客泊車功能
我猜同時也是警告意味
讓泊車小弟知道現在已經開啟了代客泊車功能，要他不要亂來XD
這種功能應該是很多車主，不一定只有名車車主想要的功能吧
不會有人喜歡別人開自己的車然後油門重踩
不然去餐廳吃個飯至少也要一小時以上
心存不良的泊車小弟可以用這時間對你的車做很多事

2016-10-19 10:52:00代客泊車模式也很簡單,鑰匙有這個按紐及車子有程式連動,車子先設定最高速限(40~60?),只有鑰匙能起動/解除即可

2016-10-19 11:25:00福特有 my key系統 可以限定鑰匙的車速 音響聲音 電話接聽 安全帶警示頻率.....其實都是類似的東西設定的鑰匙 要另外一隻才可以解除

賓士有這個功能啊，可以限定方圓1英里，車子跑超過會發警告到你的手機

類似功能很多車都有了吧..... 看不出來有多稀奇 而且不實用
Tesla 贏在可以透過 OTA 軟體更新來修正/新增功能不需回原廠調整以後汽車也能像 smartphone 一樣透過網路來更新變速箱韌體

聽起來很威阿 但是出包機率也高很多吧 iOS都常出包了
怎麼會不實用...日後出國車子停在 連勝/嘟嘟房 (機場附近停車場) 還蠻安心的限制最高速度不錯有些新聞都是代客泊車，然後出去亂飆 XD
廠車都有PIT Lane 技術上要達成不是難事，但很多車沒有，表示其實對大多數把車當交通工具的人來說，這不重要。
其實我想過這件事 去把ipad 裝4G網卡 可以丟車內後用手機監視車子動向！

會嗎？ 我之前ipad遺失在醫院某小角落 還被病歷蓋住....居然能用尋找我的iPhone 功能尋獲...把wifi 功能開著定位就比較準 跟玩寶可夢一樣道理的
