Clarkson included in Gilas 24-man FIBA Asia roster

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)
released the preliminary 24-man Gilas roster they submitted for consideration
for the upcoming 2015 FIBA Asia Championship in China from September 23
to October 3.

Sports analyst Quinito Henson posted the actual document on social media on
Tuesday (August 25). The document was submitted on August 20, well ahead of
the stipulated August 23 deadline.
一位體育記者也公布了提交的正式文件, 是在FIBA的截止時間8/23之前的8/20所提交
The list will be trimmed down to 12 players before the actual tournament with
only one naturalized player allowed. The two naturalized players included
in the list are former NBA center Andray Blatche and recent top PBA Draft
pick Moala Tautuaa.
之後這份名單會減至12人, 包括一名歸化球員.

Also part of the submitted roster is Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson,
who SBP Executive Director Sonny Barrios said is a natural born Filipino.

Barrios earlier revealed to CNN Philippines that Clarkson has held a Philippine
passport before the age of 16, thus making him eligible to represent the
country as a natural born player.
菲律賓說Clarkson在他16歲之前就取得了菲律賓的護照, 所以不算歸化球員
He, however, emphasized that the SBP is "still going through process of formal
approval with FIBA," and that it will provide all of the required documents to
the governing body.
不過, 菲律賓還在等待FIBA的認證, 但是他們可以提供所有需要的文件
FIBA internal regulations states that players are required to obtain the
passport of the nation they intend to represent internationally before they
turn 16. If the requirements are not fulfilled before the age of 16, then the
only way the said player may represent the country is after undergoing the
naturalization process.
