Microsoft Corporate VP confirms their next phone will be
“high end and category innovating”
At a Windows developer user group event Gallo said the company will focus
primarily on the Enterprise segment, he told attendees. He explained Nokia’s
strategy of pushing out low-end consumer devices was never going to make any
money, and the business segment is Microsoft’s core strength.

This suggests that the next generaton of Microsoft’s Windows phones, be they
the Surface Phone or not, will likely be high end devices like the HP Elite
X3, which are expensive and not distributed via normal commericial channels.

儘管 Windows 10 Mobile 系統推出，但 Windows Phone 的頹勢似乎難以好轉，這讓外界
認為 Microsoft 可能已經要放棄手機市場，畢竟連 Microsoft 執行長 Satya Nadella
都承認他們在行動裝置領域已經失敗。不過現在 Microsoft 聯合副總裁 Kevin Gallo 表
示，他們仍在打造一款「高階且充滿創新」的智慧型手機！
根據《MSPowerUser》的報導，Kevin Gallo 在倫敦接受訪問時提到，Windows 手機仍會
持續提供給企業用戶，同時他也指出 Microsoft 將會專注在企業市場，原因在於若向
NOKIA 一樣不斷在消費市場推出低階手機，Microsoft 將難以獲利。
對於下一款 Windows 手機，Kevin Gallo 強調他們正在試圖讓 Windows 10 的良好體驗
到到手機上，下一款 Windows 手機將會是一款高階且充滿創新的機種，能夠帶來過去
Surface 裝置帶來的驚豔感。
同時他也認為這款新機將會成為 OEM 廠商打造 Windows 手機的範本，並強調
Microsoft 並沒有要放棄 Windows 手機，在 Windows 10 的下一個重大版本更新
Anniversary update 中，Windows 10 Mobile 系統也將會獲得重大更新。
