Some people start talking effusively when they are nervous. They might say sil
ly or embarrassing things. They might say something that is awkward or embarra
ssing. This may be a reasonable person whose nervousness gets the better of th
em. If you have dealt with someone recently who said something you found ridic
ulous or offensive, you may need to give that person another chance. It could
just be that the words were uttered in a moment of nervousness, and the true m
eaning bears no resemblance to what was actually said.
