And Laver, Australia's greatest men's player, believes the time has come for K
yrgios to be punished.
"Whatever they have done hasn't worked so far, so maybe a suspension is the on
ly answer," Laver told Australian publication The Age.
"I'm not sure he's learned anything from any of the things that have gone on.
"Nick is Nick, unfortunately.
"He could have been, or still could become, a world champion because of his se
rving ability, his game.
"But his brain gets in the way. He doesn't want to adhere to the conditions or
the umpire."
It's understood the ATP will not issue any action towards Kyrgios before the L
aver Cup, which begins on September 20.
