Every week on wtatennis.com we'll bring you 10 Things To Know about the week
- who's playing, where and more. This week, the Road To Singapore heads to
the indoor clay courts of Stuttgart.
1) The Road To Singapore heads to European clay starting this week.
The five week European clay court lead-up to Roland Garros begins in
Stuttgart this week, followed by Prague (week of April 27), Madrid (week of
May 4), Rome (week of May 11) and Strasbourg and Nürnberg (week of May 18).
Marrakech, the WTA's only stop in Africa, is in there too (week of April 27).

2) Sharapova is playing her very best tournament.

Halep, the No.2 seed, has won 24 WTA-level matches, more than anyone else on
the tour - the next-highest total goes to Timea Bacsinszky, who now has 23

back from Williams if she wins the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix title this week.

After playing back-to-back WTA events in the Middle East in Dubai and Doha in
February, Petra Kvitova withdrew from Indian Wells and Miami due to
exhaustion. But she made an impressive return to action in Fed Cup on the
weekend, winning both of her matches, and she's the No.3 seed here.

Safarova, Angelique Kerber, Sara Errani, Sabine Lisicki and Garbiñe Muguruza.
