THE END IS NIGH!
I will start removing the tower next week.
It was agreed that the tower would be dismantled after this year's art
festival , and somehow we rather hoped it could last a little longer but , in
view of the recent tragedy where a fatality was caused by another bamboo
structure in freak high winds, the tower will be removed.
Thanks so much for all those who have been so supportive and appreciative of
the project and apologies to the detractors .(I realize it's not for everyone)
下周確定要拆除日落塔了，原因就是前幾天旁邊竹棚壓死學童的不幸事件，
想拍它最後身影的這兩天可以去看看，可惜了這個難得又美麗的地標
底下有點小感想，
去年網路在流傳說日落塔會被拆，
實際上是民眾檢舉旁邊別人搭蓋的竹棚環境髒亂，
所以區公所想將那些竹棚拆掉，但不知道為什麼被傳成連日落塔都要被拆，
在一些民意跟議員協調下，就全部都留著了，
但前幾天竹棚倒塌壓死學童，
反而讓日落塔作者決定將日落塔拆除，
這會讓人想像，如果當初拆除竹棚的消息沒有被誤傳成連同日落塔都被拆除，
那竹棚是否能順利被拆除掉而僅留下日落塔?
這樣就不會有學童被竹棚壓死，也不會有現在拆除日落塔的決定，
能說就是因為那個誤傳造成一條人命跟藝術品的消逝嗎?
當然這中間還是有很多變數，不能如此斷言，
像現在氣候這麼極端，日落塔也可能毀於更大更突然的強風，
到時也可能波及無辜，或許現在就拆掉也是正確的，
不管怎樣，還是衷心希望人們都能去接收正確的事實並依其做出決定
