解多益的題目有個概念很重要就是你要知道哪個是主動哪個是被動
做動作的人是誰接受動作的人又是誰
campaign這一類的選舉活動跟我們地方政府the local government很明顯的一定是後者sponsors前面嘛
好這是第一個你需要釐清的概念
第二個就是這邊是用所謂的形容詞子句
又或者叫做關係子句
The campagin (which) the local government is sponsoring had a negative effect on the area.
這邊就是用了關代可以省略的概念而已
而which the local government is sponsoring這個就是所謂的形容詞子句/關係子句
which + S + V = the girl "whom" I like. 那個我喜歡的女孩
which + V = the girl who sweeps off my feet. 那個讓我動心的女孩
上面是兩個形容詞子句的公式跟結構
你可以看出都有我們的V
可是sponsoring這個是動名詞在文法上他是名詞詞性喔(形容它仍然用副詞就是)
也就是N 故不能選sponsoring必須要選有be動詞+ving的進行式
你講得可以把v變成ving是因為我們的主格在後面沒有被動含意的時候才有辦法省略喔
the girl sweeping off my feet is Lisa.
the girl who sweeps off my feet is Lisa.
兩句都對
可是the girl whom I like因為是有被動含意的(做出喜歡動作的人是"I" 接受喜歡的是"the girl")
所以不能簡化成the girl whom I liking
以你的例子來說就是sponsor的是the local government不是用形容詞子句形容的the campaign所以不能改ving
還有你問說為甚麼不能寫The local government sponsors/sponsored the campaign.
可以啊沒人說不行可是題目就不是這樣問你啊XD
