同學在練習寫作的時候，
都知道英文名詞前要使用的「冠詞」有a, an, the三種。
但你知道有第四種嗎？
答案就是「不加冠詞」(zero article / null article)，
這也是一種正確用法喔！
今天就要整理一些「不加the」的範例給同學參考，一起來看看吧！
1. 提到「整個群體」(whole category)時，不加the
例如，若要選擇養一種寵物，你想選狗狗，
應該說”Dogs can be great pets.”
複數名詞Dogs前不加the，因為是「整個群體」。
同理，如果要表達”我不相信政客”，應該說”I do not trust politicians.”
那麼，以下這句，可以怎麼修改呢？
(錯誤) I like this grammar book because it explains everything so well.
After reading this book,
I can understand the nouns and the verbs much better.
I still need help with the adjectives.
(正確) nouns, verbs, adjectives都是「整個群體」，所以前面的the都要拿掉。
2. 提到不能被看到/摸到的「抽象名詞」(abstract nouns)時，不加the
例如：
“A person’s future success depends on education.”
education前不加the.
其他abstract noun如advantage, curiosity, satisfaction等。
那麼，以下這句，可以怎麼修改呢？
(錯誤) There are many reasons for being homeless,
including the low education and the alcoholism.
(正確) education, alcoholism為「抽象名詞」，前面的the都要拿掉。
