1. Darwin evolution: different species spread geo separate places
第一段:達爾文參加了voyage，本是為了探討哪個島的coast，但是他發現一
本書，surprisingly,書指出不同物種怎樣的(有考點但我忘了)
有題說他原本的意圖並非是去發現物種。
下一段:最後他在那次voyage觀察一種烏龜，發現生活在不同小島的烏龜，
發展出不同species，儘管小島是距離相當近。收集很多specimen，這些烏
龜是從同一個祖先演化而來。所以就推出他的進化論
下一段:達爾文想，為什麼會發展出不同的species呢，他先提出一個假設
Artificial的篩選: (好像有個黑粗體artificial之類的字，沒有題目)
這類行篩選是農夫啥的，會選擇某些特性的家畜養殖，並且enhance他的特
性，這個可以解釋位甚麼進化。
Natural的篩選: 但在大自然為啥會篩選呢？達爾文後來看到一個學者的研
究，研究說，大自然物種越來越多人類越來越多，但是食物還甚麼的有限，
所以很多物種還沒有發展到成熟就會被吃掉還啥的，總之體優的會活下來，
更有機會傳給succession.
題目:(Enhance和succession有單字題)
這兩種篩選的共同特性是啥:都是身體好的有機會傳承給下一代
2. O art是說發現到古文明，這個古文明是由elite所rule，然後這些
elite會建一些sculpture來彰顯自己的authority，這些雕像有些是lean
的，且部分雕像是half-human, half-animal, 而Jaguar是最重要可以彰顯
Powerful的
3. Songbird learn to sing學家發現小鳥學唱歌有一種固定的模式，但發
現在自然環境底下hatch的小鳥發展唱歌的時程比在lab的小鳥還要快，科學
家發現應該是因為在自然環境下的小鳥要establish territory，所以要快
點發展唱歌來跟附近的鳥溝通說：這是我的地盤！然後文章又提到小鳥不會
因為聽到不一樣的曲子就改變自己學會的曲子

C1 student complain about print system
學生的paper晚交了兩小時，sorry for that,教授說沒關係，但是不要變成
習慣就好。
然後他說新的影印系統很爛，教授說為何，我都用自己的印表機，所以我不
知道以前的印表機有啥問題
學生說，以前印表機大家要用很麻煩，還要排隊排很久，新式印表機可以指
定去哪台印表機列印，可以選離自己進的
教授:那應該很方便阿
學生:好像說了一個新式印表機的缺點，他自己的筆電都比新式的好，最後
他只好跑到校外去影印。
然後學生和老師開始談論paper，講一個寫作劇本的方式，首先故事的第一
句話，務必要很grab觀眾，例如一個女性相當的great!!!觀眾就會期待到底
有多great!?
然後第一句話也說，他很cool還啥的抓住觀眾；however到了第二段口氣就
要急轉直下，講他非常溫柔的(有題考為何要這麼做)
L1 有一群人，1940開了一個啥偏好interdisciplinary開立的學校，這個學
校很特別，他們喜歡鼓勵學生的創意，他們也沒有啥課表，沒有學生對教
授，教授對長官(admin)的角色，課表是學生和老師一起討論出來，然後一
起種菜，一起煮菜。
一般而言，其他學校都教specific skill that can help student in
career
這個教育方式相當特別，不被當時的人接受，ironically 這種教學法在現
在是非常被推崇的 學校還請了很多名人向愛迪生啥的(有題)，不知是站台
還幹嘛，總之最後這個學校還是倒了
L2 火山爆發，會造成氣溫下降!!
首先講到一個世界最大的火山爆發， 他的影響很大，影響了Europe
America(有題)，這是因為火山爆發的氣體，飄到平流層(S~~)，教授說，
我不用解釋啥事平流層吧 就是地表以上18公里還多少的氣層，ash會飄到
那，擋住陽光，還講到啥和水氣混合(有題)會變甚麼SUL??(不確定)還有hey
? hey到哪溫度就會降低
然後講到美國一個火山hele爆發，溫度降低
兩年後另一個地方火山爆發，溫度降低(我忘記是哪個降低比較多了，有題)
為何會這樣呢，因為另一個的火山爆發他的組成成分不一樣，還講到ASH無
法擋住太陽太久，是另外一個氣體造成溫度下降
C2女學生問對方，妳們的咖啡很好喝，是不是學生的產品
對方 :不適我們有挑選好的supplier
女:我想要來你們這賣產品可嗎，為了完成作業(有題但我寫錯了)
對方: 無法 因為如果同意一個其他人也會想來賣
你可以去網路上賣 還啥賣
女:喔那邊很不錯 啥的啥的(有題沒聽清楚)，但是我的杯子還啥要怎麼辦，
這樣可以回收嗎?(有題，女學生為何猶豫，因為不確定流程)
杯子很貴的!
對方:那你可以去fair賣
那邊甚麼都不用準備只需要拿張桌椅加上定價就可以賣囉
但女學生想要把這時間用來念書，但他覺得他應該可以稱空檔念書(有題)
L3 a woman artist
講女畫家很有名，學生問 女生應該很難有名阿
教授說對，他很難去當學生還學徒之類，但他家世很好，他和姐姐都去畫室
旁聽，他不是學徒(有題)
然後女畫家還去當某個有名氣的畫家底下學畫，那個有名的畫家老了，根本
懶得教人，但女畫家很有天分，所以還是教他了(有題)
女畫家變成genre painter(有題)
然後女畫家因為不是男生，所以無法參加某個男畫家都會在那賣畫，提升名
氣的地方，所以女畫家就開始送畫。久而久之，人們就覺得喜歡他的畫，他
也開始越來越有名氣
然後介紹一幅畫，三個女孩，講什麼我沒聽很清楚，反正說他的特色是
informal(有題應該是選informal無誤)
L4講一個蟲crap,他有relative 但已絕種(有題，BC猜一個)，是因為那個
crap比較不挑食，不挑環境，所以生存下來。
男學生問 他為何像螃蟹，長得又不像，教授說他的確不是螃蟹的一種
男學生問 他的尾巴很尖很長，看起來像武器(有題)，教授說他不是武器，
in fact他很無害，而且有助於人類
Crap的血有助於人類，crap沒有免疫系統，和人類不同，當Crap被細菌攻擊
時(海裡很多細菌E)crap的血會把E給clot。(有題)
所以很多新藥，在銷售之前，會先注射crap的血，看看裡面是否有E，若
有，他的血液就會clot(有題，對人類benefit~)

Well, the female student disagrees. She doesn’t agree with the
health issue because the university can replace the junk food with
more nature and nutrient food such as vegetable. Besides, the
female student disagrees that students can get the snacks from the
grocery store easily as the university mentioned. She thinks that
sometimes student not have much time to go to grocery store, such
as the time between classes. Also if it is late in the night, most
stores are closed. Students must buy food on the vender machine.

廣告者先說這個飲料nutrient and fresh, in the end of the ad, the ad
says the name “spiall” several times
However, after a week, most people even not remember the name of
the drink
2第二種廣告方式，前面完全一樣，只是在最後ad問觀眾
SO, what is the name of the soft drink.
Interestingly most people remember the name of the drink

The problem of the student is that he has to take a difficult
class.
選項一 resign the position in報社還啥, 他們可以容易的replace him,
但是people

選項二，上summer class, 他可以了解課程，但是無法去和朋友玩which
planned for a long time.

The professor is discussing two physical ways for fish to 漂浮
1鯊魚有鰭(fin?)，游泳時會產生lift 就像飛機的力量一樣
他們要一直游泳才有lift, 所以鯊魚在海中要一直游泳才不會沉下去
2啥魚的有氣囊，他吸收氧氣然後release到氣囊，所以他們不用游泳就可以

C1學生提建議把art department的 pencil or paper換成environmentally
friendly的。 老師提到cost，have a budget. 然後解釋說現在art 部門已
經關注環保問題，比如一種鉛筆就是用一種長得很快的樹做的。建議學生把
他的提議以書面形式提交，list price and proposal。so that一個委員會
可以在會議上討論。學生提到green committee in the university並說
committee里有學生代表。老師同意。說國家撥給fund to green
committee ，可以申請fund。最後學生問何時提交proposal，老師說下一次
meeting在下個月，還有三個星期準備。
L1以前認為海底很安靜，但是後來發現其實很吵，還發明了一個什麼phone
去聽海底的聲音。魚有什麼部位，主要功能是游泳，同時也可以用於發聲，
從而交流。
L2 生物對環境的影響。不是說人，而是說很久很久以前，首先說一些微生
物幫助產生氧氣，改變大氣環境，植物光合作用也產生氧氣，雨林讓氣溫降
低。
C2 女生父母來了，去諮詢電影票的事。男的一直在推銷season card, 有超
多好處，聽到的有：專門的好座位區，可以提前買普通票給朋友（有題）
女生問Hamlet的演出，男生說到時候票會買很快（有題）還說flyer上會寫
的內容，有題。
L3 提出問題what makes we do what we do?教授說有一個人給出一個實用
主義的principle, 及我們的選擇的標準是能不能讓大部分人覺得更快樂。
教授提出這種標準的缺點就是不夠practical. 舉例二戰中一個女孩的母親
只有他一人照顧，同時國家需要他打仗。如果去打仗，可能能幫助國家勝
利，但是也可能一下就bye了，誰也幫不了。母親只能依靠他一人，但是這
樣他就沒辦法為國家人民貢獻。教授用這個例子說明principle還不夠強硬
來做出選擇。
口說
1.在三個活動中選一個參加：work with children；clean up a area of
the city；還有一個忘了。

own or with few friends, or stay with a family live in the
country？

proposal: 1.hire more tutors; 2.open the writting not only on
weekdays but aslo on weekends.
woman: agree.1.only two tutors now,students will wait for long
time to get help, things are worsen during time when course papers
should be submitted . 2. if the center open on weekends, it will
help evenly spread out the demands on weekdays.
4. magnification is the negative thinking way which leads to
people giving up good opportunities they meet.
Professor: his son loves performance and has talent for it. the
speaker and his wife watched one show performed by their son, they
were impressed by the moving performance, so were the audience.
But the son told them that he forgot a line of the character and
considered himself not a good actor. his feelings are so strong
that he gives up a chance to perform in a show next semester.
5.Woman's problem is that she has a conflict time schedule. 她爸爸
想和她一起吃飯並且看電影，因為他爸爸要離開一陣子，所以想花時間跟她
見面。但是她明天有生物考試，she wants to prepare for the exam.
two solutions: 1. cancel the date with her father,cause her father
wants her do good in school, so he will understand. but she will
not see her father for a while and will miss him. 2.去吃飯不看電
影。 still have some time to prepare for the exam but have to stay
up late and may be tired tomorrow.
6. 2 behaviors to help animals get used to canyon: 1. searching
the food alone. 有種ape, 它們吃的plant scattered in large area，
如果它們成群覓食，食物會不夠吃。 2,make sound to mark their
territories . 很多動物有自己的領地，如果它們的領地被別的動物進入，
可能引起fight and cause injured。但有時別的動物是不小心進入的，因
為有很多樹枝擋住視線。所以要make sound。有一種monkey 就是這樣做
的。
