Merkel: Still no basis for negotiations with Greece
Here comes Angela Merkel...and she heads straight to the press microphones to
deliver a clear message.
There is still no basis for negotiations after the very clear no in the Greek
referendum on Sunday.
Solidarity at the European level, and responsibility at national level are
still important. Without solidarity and without reforms we cannot embark on
this path.
And the chancellor concludes by warning that time is extremely short:
It’s not a matter of weeks any more, it’s a matter of days.

Dijsselbloem: Greece will submit proposals tomorrow
Jeroen Dijsselbloem, president of the Eurogroup, is giving his statement now.
He says that eurozone finance ministers will hold a conference call on
Wednesday to discuss a request from Greece for financial assistance through
the European Stability Mechanism.
He confirms that the Greek government did not submit a written request today
