Polish insider claims that Cyberpunk 2077 is delayed due to current-gen
console optimization issues

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that a lot of PC gamers are looking forward to.
While the game was originally slated for an April 2020 release , CD Projekt
RED announced last week that the game is delayed until September 2020. And
Polish insider Borys Niespielak claimed in a recent podcast that the main
reason behind this delay is the underwhelming power of current-gen consoles.
As Niespielak claimed, the base Xbox One console is not powerful enough to
run the current build of Cyberpunk 2077. Niespielak’s sources claim that the
performance on Xbox One is extremely unsatisfactory. As such, and in order to
further optimize its title, CD Projekt RED has decided to delay the game.
To be honest, these console performance issues are nothing new for CDPR. The
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had major optimization issues on both Xbox One and PS4.
Instead of releasing the game, though, CDPR has decided this time to delay it.
Unfortunately, we don’t know whether the team will downgrade the game so it
can run better on current-gen consoles. We also don’t know whether these “
optimizations” will find their way on the PC. After all, the E3 2019 PC demo
of Cyberpunk 2077 was running at 1080p with Ultra settings and Ray Tracing
effects on an NVIDIA Titan RTX GPU.
Let’s also not forget that a lot of PC gamers criticized the downgraded
visuals of The Witcher 3. As such, it will be interesting to see whether
Cyberpunk 2077 will also suffer from such a thing. And yes, we can expect
numerous comparison videos when the game comes out.

巫師3的老玩家應該會有種熟悉感,因為巫師3時就發生過了,巫師3在Xbox one和PS4上優
化不行所以最後發行時有降了視覺表現。
這次Cyperpunk 2077好像又弄太好讓家機有點頂不住了,不知最後會如此。
