Microsoft's free upgrade offer for Windows 10 / 11 ended July 29, 2016. The installation path to obtain the Windows 7 / 8 free upgrade is now removed as well. Upgrades to Windows 11 from Windows 10 are still free.

To upgrade to Windows 11, devices must meet the Windows 11 minimum system requirements. Some Windows 10 features aren't available in Windows 11. 就字面上的意思就是說微軟將停止Windows 7和8.1透過升級的方式更新至Windows 10和
Windows 11
如果說不能原地升級那就還好但外媒已經測試連金鑰啟用都被封了
外媒Neowin用虛擬機測試在Windows 11 Canary通道下嘗試使用Windows 7/8.1的金鑰啟用
時就會出現金鑰無法啟用的訊息。雖然RTM版本的Windows 11還是可以透過7/8.1的金鑰啟
用，但也不排除微軟會在之後下放到所有版本來停止透過舊版序號啟用
