moves:
‧ Recalled RHP Greg Weissert (#85) from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
‧ Placed RHP Ian Hamilton on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to 8/31)
with a right groin strain.
(2) @BryanHoch: Anthony Rizzo is going through baseball exercises in New York,
according to Aaron Boone, who said that Rizzo has not had a setback. The
Yankees plan to sit down with him this week and discuss the situation.
(3) @BryanHoch: Ian Hamilton felt discomfort in his groin while warming up last
night. It's the same injury he dealt with earlier in the season. Aaron Boone
said they hope Hamilton can return this season, but there's a chance his year
is done.
(4) @BryanHoch: Yesterday's Yankees lineup featured six players under age 25
(Jasson Dominguez, Anthony Volpe, Austin Wells, Everson Pereira, Oswald Peraza
and Oswaldo Cabrera).
It was the first time they've done that since Sept. 11, 1969 at Washington
(Thurman Munson, Bobby Murcer, Ron Blomberg, Stan Bahnsen, Jerry Kenney and
Tom Shopay).
(5) @BryanHoch: The Yankees haven't swept the Astros in a three-game series
since Sept. 27-29, 2013, a set in which Andy Pettitte notched a complete game
win in his final @MLB start.
