VanVleet: "Becoming a parent has been the greatest thing that's happened to
me. To have 2 under 2 has been an experience, to say the least, and it just
gives you perspective on life."
談到了他在東決期間出生的女兒時，VanVleet表示：
“最好還是別在總決賽期間生小孩了，建議你們在7月或8月考慮這件事情。”
“成為父親對我來說真的是最棒的事，養育兩個2歲以下的孩子增添了很多經驗，
至少讓你對生活產生了很多思考。
When I come home they don't care about what happened – 0-for-7, or we lost,
or 25 points. My daughter doesn't care – she's crying, she wants to cry. The
newborn definitely doesn't give a damn about anything other than eating and
sleeping and pooping."
“當我回家時，家人們絲毫不在乎此前發生了什麼，
7投0中，我們輸了，甚至輸了25分？他們不在乎，我的女兒不會在乎這些，她想哭就哭。
對於剛出生的兒子來說，除了吃喝拉撒，他不會在乎任何事情。
"I wish I could go back in time and not tell anyone that I had a kid so I
could get all the glory for turning around my performance."
“早知道不告訴你們我的兒子出生了，這樣我狀態恢復的功勞就都是我自己的。”
