Ingles welcomed expectations on the Boomers ahead of the bid for gold.
“We feel good... I feel like we’ve got better and stronger as we’ve
progressed through the last few Olympics and World Championships,”
Ingles said.
“To have Ben involved now there is going to be some guys that won’t
be there but the group that we’ve got we’re really excited about.
“We’re confident that we can do something really special and that is
to bring a gold medal home to Australia and be the first (men’s) team
to do that.”

依照FIBA規定：

3-23 A player who has played in a main official competition of FIBA
(see article 2-1) after having reached his seventeenth (17) birthday
may not play for a national team of another country.
雙（多）重國籍球員，在滿17歲之後一旦替一國在FIBA主要官方賽事中出賽，
就不能再替另一個國家出賽了。
KI 在2012 2016奧運、及2014 FIBA世界盃中替美國隊出賽了，所以不能代表澳洲
FIBA規定中有個特例條款，若一球員滿17歲後替某國出賽過，卻想回頭效力自己的
母國(country of origin)，那必須在FIBA秘書長考量認定這樣會有利其母國籃球
發長之下，授權開此特例才行。
KI是在澳洲出生，若他16歲前有持過澳洲護照，澳洲就可視為其母國，但是必須要
FIBA秘書長認定他改加入澳洲國家隊會對澳洲籃球發展有利，才能開特例授權KI轉隊。
但是這種特例一般不會去開，澳洲並不是沒了KI籃球界就沒人了，就算KI有此意願，
也難以說服FIBA。
