在西方世界，許多孫子兵法的英譯版本。我找到了其中一本，關於這段的翻譯
Unhappy is the fate of one who tries to win his battles and succeed in his
attacks without cultivatingthe spirit of enterprise; for the result is waste
of time and general stagnation. Hence the saying: The enlightened ruler lays
his plans well ahead; the good general cultivateshis resources. Move not
unless you see an advantage; use not your troops unless there is something to

一個人如果不培養進取精神，卻想在戰鬥中成功，在進攻中取勝，他的命運是不幸的。

因爲其結果是浪費時間和將軍停滯不前。

虎撲也認為是這句，不過整體而言，跟真正的翻譯是有差距的，這個翻譯明顯
比Lillard貼的要更貼近原意。
