BW: That’s a great question. Here’s the thing about LeBron and influence
with teams. Fans and even people who I work with, like my bosses who are
really in the sports business. They want a black and white answer like, did
LeBron get this coach fired? Check a box, yes or no. Did LeBron trade a
player? Yes or no? They want LeBron is the GM or LeBron is sitting in the
back of the bus not saying a word. The whole scenario about influence with
LeBron is a whole big array of grey.
Windhorst表示：
「這是個好問題，這事關乎於LeBron對球隊的影響力。
我接觸過的粉絲還有和我一起工作過的人，甚至我老闆，
都希望有關於LeBron的一切事情，皆有個明確答案，不是黑就是白。

或者希望LeBron坐在球隊大巴最後面一言不發呢？
一切關於LeBron的所作所為，基本上都處於灰色地帶。」
Does LeBron have influence on the way the Lakers built the team? Without
question. They obviously agreed on a direction. Does that mean LeBron
actually went out and signed Michael Beasley? No. It doesn’t. When the Cavs
fired David Blatt, did LeBron go in and slam his fist down on Dan Gilbert or
David Griffin’s desk that this guy is fired or I don’t show up? No. But did
LeBron’s treatment of David Blatt over the course of a year and half make
his feelings clear? Yes.
「LeBron的到來是否對湖人的建隊模式有影響？

So that’s the thing when it comes to influence in the Lakers and recruiting
stars or whatever. LeBron has a role. LeBron has an influence and with the
head coach, LeBron is there, but it’s never going to be him actually
pressing a button or not. That’s, by the way, not just hard for fans and
media to understand, that’s hard for teams to understand too. The teams have
to learn how LeBron likes to influence without taking ownership. Because the
one thing LeBron is never going to do is, he’s ever going to assign his name
to something. Because he has the luxury of not having to do that. That’s the
thing.
「所以當事情影響力涉及湖人或者招募球員方面，此時LeBron扮演了一個角色，
他的影響力就擺在那，但LeBron永遠不會是最後做決定的那個人。
順便說，不僅是粉絲難以理解，連媒體，甚至整個團隊都很難理解。

If they make a coaching change and they hire a coach, that guy is going to be
directly tied to Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka. His success or failure will
be directly tied to them. LeBron is smart enough to know, I’m not going to
be directly tied to anybody. That’s the thing.
