Joe Lacob vows nobody will outspend or outwork Warriors for as long as

Kevin Durant may be gearing up to leave the Golden State Warriors in free
agency this summer, but Warriors owner Joe Lacob says that all the
organization can do is treat its best players to the best of its ability and
spend as much as it can to ensure that the team is a contender:

“We can do whatever we want (financially),” Lacob said, according to Tim
Kawakami of The Athletic. “And you should expect that that’s not going to
be a reason this team … doesn’t stay great going forward. We have the
capital to pay our players what they deserve. And we will.”

As Lacob points out, sometimes, money isn’t everything, and Durant could
very well leave the Warriors regardless of how much they are willing to pay
him this summer.

“All we can do is be the best organization we can, treat players the best we
can, provide the best environment, have the best management, have a great
arena,” added Lacob. “I mean, all the things we do. The culture of the

Durant and Klay Thompson are both set to be free agents this summer, while
Dramyond Green will be up in 2020. Thompson is expected by most to remain in
Golden State. Remember: the Warriors won a title before Durant even got to
Oakland, so there is no reason why the Dubs can’t keep contending even if
Durant bounces:
