Zach LaVine and his family are diehard basketball fans and their dogs can
attest to this fact. Well, they won’t be able to tell you that, but their
names are revealing. In a video post by the the Chicago Bulls on Twitter,
LaVine is seen with a pack of good boys.

Two of his father’s dogs are named Kobe and LeBron, after Los Angeles Lakers
’ stars Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. LaVine said he names their dogs after
basketball players. Another one of his father’s dogs is named Maya —
presumably after Maya Moore. But his other two dogs are named Cosmo and Cane
— the correlation to basketball players is murkier there.

Bulls fans should feel good about this video. Anyone who is a dog person
immediately gains some trust in my book. Cats are fine, but everyone knows
that dogs are way better than cats. LaVine’s family owning five dogs is a
testament to his character.

The Sacramento Kings gave LaVine an offer sheet worth $78 million over four
years which the Bulls subsequently matched. LaVine hasn’t played a full
season in two years, but the Bulls think if he can come back healthy, he’ll
be an integral part of the rebuild in Chicago.

his game, he could be a key piece for Chicago moving forward.
