The TV ratings for the NBA Finals were overall acceptable, but Friday's
Golden State Warriors' clincher over the Cleveland Cavaliers hit a low after
four straight years of the two teams meeting in the title round.
Friday’s Game 4 drew an 11.2 overnight rating on ABC, according to Sports
Media Watch. That's the lowest of any of the 22 Finals games between the
Warriors and Cavs dating back to 2015.
Overall, the four-game sweep averaged a 12.2 rating among metered market
households, according to the Hollywood Reporter. An average of 18-million
viewers watched the first three games, an impressive number considering Game
1 was the only truly competitive contest.
