Rockets center Dwight Howard and guard Jeremy Lin sat out Monday’s practice
will sore backs, with Rockets coach Kevin McHale saying their availability to
play against the Heat on Tuesday will be determined during the day. Howard,
however, seemed unconcerned.
“Who said something about my back?” Howard said. Told that his coach
mentioned it, Howard seemed confident the issue would “go away.”
“It shouldn’t be that big of an issue,” Howard said. “Just had a back
spasm. It happens. Just continue to play through it. It just tightened up,
like a cramp in a leg. It happens and goes away. But we have a lot of able
bodies.
“If it’s God’s will, I’ll be out there with the fellas. I think it’s
good we had a day before the game. That way I’ll continue to rehab, make
sure won’t have any problems tomorrow.”
Howard is the only Rockets player to have played in every game this season.
Lin was not available for comment.
