Houston Rockets G Jeremy Lin has agreed to a shoe deal with adidas, thus
departing Nike, a league source informed CSNNW.com.
The source spoke on condition of anonymity due to adidas having yet to have
made an official announcement on the agreement. According to the source, the
announcement will come on Friday.
The signing of Lin only increases adidas’ global brand.
Lin, 25, is averaging 14.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 24
appearances this season.
Lin, an undrafted free agent out of Harvard, came on to the scene after he
was waived by the Golden State Warriors and joined the New York Knicks in
2012. After he unexpectedly led the Knicks to a win over the then New Jersey
Nets in early February of 2012, and his success continued late into the
season, the term "Linsanity" became a globally recognizable phrase.
Lin is currently in the second of his three year contract with the Rockets.
