Mavericks-Bulls Preview
The Chicago Bulls escaped their seven-game road trip with four wins and
maintained their spot atop the Central Division.

They return home Tuesday night to face the Dallas Mavericks - a team
currently in the midst of their own season-long road jaunt.

As he has all season, Jimmy Butler carried the Bulls (11-6) on their trip.
The shooting guard averaged 26.3 points over the final four games - 4.4
better than his season average. He already has 11 games with at least 20
points after totaling nine in his first three seasons in the league.

Butler said. "I think I strive at just doing whatever it takes to help my
team win. Scoring, guarding, facilitating, whatever it might be. I'm just a

Butler and the Bulls downed Brooklyn on Sunday 102-84, soliciting
contributions from Pau Gasol (25 points, 13 rebounds), Nikola Mirotic (12 and
12) and, most notably, Derrick Rose, who has now started four games in a row
for the first time since Nov. 16-22, 2013.

Brooklyn's scoring total marked the lowest output the Bulls allowed since

Dallas (13-5) promises a fierce challenge for Chicago's defensive unit, as it
averages a league-best 109.1 points.

The Mavericks have lived and died through their offense, posting a 13-0
record in games where they score more than 100 points and an 0-5 record in
games with 100 or fewer. They continued that trend Saturday with a 110-103
win over Philadelphia, led by Tyson Chandler's 20 point, 13-rebound
performance.

in the final period, signifying what the team hopes is increased execution on
defense. Dallas ranks in the bottom half of the NBA with 100.1 points allowed
per game.

The Mavericks, winners of five of six on the road, close their four-game trip

Nowitzki is expected to return to Dallas' lineup after getting Saturday off
to rest, but Jameer Nelson (back) and Raymond Felton (ankle) remain
questionable. Devin Harris has started the last three games in their absence.

Dallas and Chicago are tied 33-33 in their all-time series. The Bulls won the
most recent meeting 100-91 on Feb. 28 in Dallas.
