Royals placed INF/OF Hunter Dozier on the 10-day injured list.
Dozier has tested positive for COVID-19, per an official press release, and will be sidelined indefinitely. It's a big blow to the Royals with their Opening Day game just two days away. The 28-year-old broke out to the tune of a .279/.348/.522 batting line with 26 home runs, 84 RBI, and 75 runs scored over 586 plate appearances last season for Kansas City. Maikel Franco seems likely to begin the year as the team's everyday third baseman, and Dozier's absence should also open more playing time in the
outfield for Franchy Cordero and Bubba Starling.
