Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander and actress/supermodel Kate
Upton are officially engaged, as Upton showed off her engagement ring at the
Met Gala in New York on Monday.
She confirmed the engagement to E! News, saying: "I'm really excited; he
asked me right before the season started so we've been keeping it on the down
low for quite a while. So I'm excited to finally be able to share it with the
world!"
Detroit is off today, but Verlander is expected to take the mound as an
engaged man for the first time Tuesday against the Cleveland Indians.
