Andrew Cashner will have an MRI on his elbow Sunday.
Cashner was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with soreness in his
right elbow. Padres GM Josh Byrnes told MLB.com's Corey Brock that the club
is "hopeful it's nothing serious" given that the right-hander looked sharp in
his last outing Tuesday against the Reds. Cashner, 27, has a 2.35 ERA and 47
strikeouts in 57 1/3 innings this season.
