Bruce Rondon needs Tommy John surgery and will miss all of the 2014 season.
Rondon dealt with elbow issues last season, but he was feeling fine in camp
until earlier this week when he reported some soreness to the Tigers. As it
turns out, an exam revealed the worst possible news. With Rondon on the
shelf, Joba Chamberlain is the favorite to be Joe Nathan's setup man. Al
Alburquerque should also see more high-leverage innings.
