Angels released DH/OF Bobby Abreu.
The Angels have lost five straight games, including two in a row in walk off
fashion, so they have finally decided to shake things up. Abreu was the
odd-man out in the Angels' lineup, batting .208 over his first 24 at-bats
this season. The club will be responsible for his $9 million salary this
season and he shouldn't have a problem finding a new home at the league
minimum. The Angels have called up top prospect Mike Trout in a corresponding
roster move
