Philippine Airlines is cancelling all flights to / from Osakai Kansai (Japan)
until September 12, 2018 (Wednesday), as the Kansai International Airport
will remain closed for repair and rehabilitation work after Typhoon Jebi
caused major flooding and extensive damage to airport facilities and access
roads.
A total of 55 PAL flights to/from Osaka have now been cancelled since
September 3rd due to Typhoon Jebi, affecting all routes between Osaka and
Manila, Cebu and Taipei.
CANCELLED FLIGHTS UP TO SEPTEMBER 12:
3) PR896 Taipei to Osaka (Kansai) and
PR897 Osaka (Kansai) to Taipei
Osaka-bound PAL passengers of cancelled Taipei - Osaka (Kansai) flights may
reroute on any of the following flights:
Taipei台北 - Manila馬尼拉 - Nagoya名古屋
Taipei台北 - Manila馬尼拉 - Tokyo Narita羽田
Taipei北 - Manila馬尼拉 - Tokyo Haneda成田
and travel by land to Osaka.
Taipei-bound PAL passengers of cancelled Osaka (Kansai) - Taipei flights may
reroute on any of the following routings:
Nagoya名古屋 - Manila馬尼拉 - Taipei 台北
Tokyo Haneda羽田 - Manila馬尼拉 - Taipei 台北
Tokyo Narita成田 - Manila馬尼拉 - Taipei 台北
and travel by land to Nagoya / Haneda / Narita airport.
Passengers on any of the affected Osaka flights may also opt to rebook to PAL
flights to or from Osaka on a suitable new date beyond September 12, 2018.
While the above options are available to affected passengers, PAL will still
endeavour to rebook them on the next available regular flights. Please be
advised that you will be given a travel notification via email (TN) and/or
phone call and/or SMS/text message.
You may also opt to rebook/reroute/refund within 30 days from your original
flight date, with rebooking fees waived. While rebooking /rerouting/refunding
fees are waived, fare difference is collected when a passenger rebooks on a
higher fare class (ex. regular Economy to Premium Economy, or regular Economy
to Business Class).
While weather in metro Osaka is back to normal, land transport between the
city of Osaka and Kansai International Airport was cut off or severely
curtailed after the sole connecting bridge was hit and damaged by a tanker
ship which had been blown by strong winds.
