蘋果公司在2019年4月11日宣布已有44家供應商加入該公司的清潔能源計畫，清潔能源供
應包含iPhone製造過程中封裝及晶片的製造。這些已承諾100%只使用清潔能源替蘋果生產
的供應商數量增加將近1倍。
Apple Inc said on Thursday it has nearly doubled the number of suppliers using
only clean energy for production work, including two that assemble and make t
he processor chips for the iPhone.
蘋果去年表示，再生能源可滿足該公司所有的用電需求，例如以太陽能發電供應資料中心
（data center）的用電。然而，蘋果公司為解決大部分來自於其供應鏈之碳足跡問題，
已從2015年起直接和供應鏈企業合作，促其使用清潔能源生產蘋果產品。
Apple last year said it meets all of its needs with renewable energy such as s
olar farms that power data centers. But a large part of its carbon footprint c
omes from its supply chain, and since 2015 Apple has worked directly with thos
e companies to use clean energy for Apple production.
蘋果公司4月11日宣布目前共有44家供應商加入該公司的清潔能源計畫，包含鴻海集團旗
下生產iPhone的富士康、以及為蘋果行動設備供應A系列處理器晶片的台積電。在此之前
，蘋果公司曾表示有23家廠商參與「清潔能源供應商」計畫。
Forty-four companies are now in the program, Apple said on Thursday, including
Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd, whose Foxconn unit makes iPhones, and Taiw
an Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd, which supplies the A-series chips that
power all of Apple’s mobile devices. Apple had previously disclosed 23 suppli
ers in the program.
蘋果的清潔能源定義為來自風能、太陽能或沼氣燃料電池，以及所謂的「低衝擊」水力發
電，例如在俄勒岡州的一個站點，即利用灌溉渠道的水力發電，為蘋果的資料中心供電。
The company defines clean energy as coming from wind, solar or bio-gas fuel ce
lls, as well as what it calls “low-impact” hydroelectric projects like a sit
e in Oregon that captures energy from water in irrigation canals to power one
of its data centers.
蘋果並未指定參與該計畫的供應商清潔能源之方式，但鼓勵供應商建立自己的再生能源計
畫，例如去年iPad代工廠仁寶在其中國工廠安裝屋頂型太陽能設備。
Apple did not specify where the new suppliers in the program would get the cle
an energy. It encourages suppliers to build their own renewable energy project
s, such as when iPad assembler Compal last year built rooftop solar installati
ons on its factories in China.
如果供應商無法設立再生能源案場，蘋果則表示希望供應商能與新的再生能源案場簽署購
電合約(PPA)，在無法取得PPA的情況下，則以購買再生能源憑證之方式取得清潔能源。
When those options are not available, Apple says it aims to have suppliers sig
n power-purchase agreements with new renewable energy projects and using purch
ases of renewable energy credits only when there are no other options.
蘋果公司負責其環境、政策及社會倡議之副總裁Lisa Jackson表示，該公司有望在2020年
實現在其供應鏈電網增加4 GW可再生能源的目標，甚至有機會超過5 GW。
In an interview, Lisa Jackson, Apple’s vice president of environment, policy
and social initiatives, said the company is also on track to pass its goal of
adding 4 gigawatts of renewable energy to the grids of its supply chain by 202
0 and has a “sight line” to “well over” 5 gigawatts.
如果供應商未能履行對於該計畫的承諾，Jackson拒絕透露蘋果公司是否會放棄像是富士
康或是台積電這樣的供應商，畢竟在供應鏈中沒有其他公司可與這兩家公司的能力匹敵。
Jackson declined to say whether Apple would drop suppliers such as Foxconn and
TSMC - whose capabilities few others in the global electronics supply chain c
an match - if they fail to meet their commitments to the program.
「我們花了一些時間將廠商召募進此計畫中，而我們相信這些加入計畫的廠商必會全力以
赴、達成目標。」Jackson表示「很明顯，如果廠商沒有達到承諾，我們將究其責任。我

“It took a while for them to come on board, and so we believe that now that t
hey have, they’re fully committed to doing it,” Jackson said. “And obviousl
y if they fall down on the job, we’ll be right there on their chase. I can’t
tell you what will happen, but I hope it never does.”
