) deposited on a relatively large substrate (say, 1 cm X 1 cm). Draw, qualitat
ively, the energy dispersion of electrons in the plane of the film and perpend
icular to the film (You have to draw three diagrams for the x, y, and z direct
ions, respectively). How would the energy dispersion change if the film thickn
ess was reduced to 0.5 nm? How could the substrate influence the electron ener
gies?
