上午結束新北座談後，中午趕至金山證婚，陪同這對新人的所有親友，獻上我們滿滿的祝
福。
離開時有些感觸，想起美國聯邦最高法院大法官Kennedy在2015年6月Obergefell v Hodge
s案（宣告否認同性婚姻的州法違反憲法平等權保障，正式讓美國同性婚姻合法化的劃時
代判決）的結語，與大家分享：
No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of
love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union,
two people become something greater than once they were. . . . It would misun
derstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Thei
r plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find
its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in
loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask
for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that r
ight.
