既然原po誠心誠意的發文了……
剛好最近在看Samuel Johnson的A Grammar of of the English Tongue，
裡面講Q的有一小段：
"Q, as in other language, is always followed by u, and has a sound which
our Saxon ancestors well expressed by cw, as quadrant, queen, equestrian,
quilt, inquiry, quire, quotidian. Qu is never followed by u.
Qu is sometimes sounded, in words derived from the French, like k, as
conquer, liquor, risque, chequer."
簡單翻譯，q後面一定跟著u，發音就像/kw/，qu後面接母音，
不只原po你提的i或a，o或e也可以（quote、queen），但是絕對不再跟著u。
qu也可以發成/k/，如果那個字是從法文來的話，例如conquer。
