accord
v. to agree; to be consistent; to reconcile ((與...)一致，協調)；
to grant, to bestow (給與；授與(較give正式))
n. agreement ((國家間的)協議)；harmony ( (顏色或聲音的)調和；和諧)；
consensus (一致)
【推測詞義】朝向對方的心，為「心心相印，貼心(heart-to-heart)」之意，
因此才會同意(agree)。
【衍生詞】accordance n. 符合，一致；和諧；授予
accordingly adv. consequently; hence (因此)
【字彙淺析】一般學生對於according to (依照)都不陌生，
但除了分詞的用法之外，accord還有以下常用片語。
She quit her job of her own accord.
(她辭職是出於她自己的自由意志，即她自動地辭職)。
在戰事綿延的國家間可以看到reach an accord (得到共識)、
peace accord (和平協議)、ceasefire accord (停火協議)。
in accord with, out of accord with則是指「與…一致」或「與…不一致」，
如The job what I am doing is in accord with my personal goal.
(我現在的工作與我的人生目標一致)。
而in accordance with則是「根據」的意思，與according to 相同，
例如 The funeral is conducted in accodance with local custom.
(這場喪禮是依照地方禮俗進行)。
accountable
adj. responsible ((對行為)負有(解說)責任的)；able to be explained (能夠解釋的)
【推測詞義】原意為「可數的」。
有能力把計算出來的結果朝向某人說明或解釋，隱喻「負有(解說)責任」。
