‧長篇閱讀：文化遺產保存的問題，主要提到一開始在紐約很盛行，也就是認為紐約是
理所當然的文化遺產保留的重鎮，然後就開始有一些理論說loser才往回看，winner則是
放眼未來。（有兩三題是特定句子的目標之類的）。
‧metapredator，就是不是生態系裡面地位最高的掠食者，說在棲地崩壞變離散之後，
這類中間等級的掠食者會取得優勢，然後說明兩個原因，其一是等級最高的會無法生存，
有些細節記不太清楚了，另外一個我也有點忘記了，但是最後說到這種top-down和
down-top，一個應該就是只等級最高的掠食者消失，另外一個就是，中間等級的掠食者可
以在生態系改變之後有較好的適應，所以當兩個條件都答成之後，就造成了這種中間等級
的掠食者大量繁殖（後面這個down-top的那句話有考目的題）。
‧埋在地底管線的問題，就先說明埋在地底的管線有甚麼優勢和好處，接著說明他在汰
換的時候的方便性，然後最後比較一般的bored（應該是指裸管和這種埋管的差別性）。
‧有個作家寫了一個跟植物有關的書，他希望透過這本書來讓女性可以有別的方式來面
對自己的生活，但是特別強調說，書的作者其實沒有那種鼓勵女性來反抗當權這樣的想法
，他們只是想要讓女性的生活可以過得更好（這概念蠻重要的，因為我記得考題都是在考
這個概念）。
‧一個Cub地區的writer，說土生土長之後，他們用英文寫文章就會有一些特色，所以創
造了一個Cub...的名詞來形容他，中間出現comfortable問它的意思最接近…，接下來好
像也從西班牙的英文寫作來看。
‧探討arthropod的演化
‧科學家說：陸地的上升比海平面的上升快，之後有一個hypothesis解釋這個理論，且
這個理論被observer支持，下面又有一段話好像是反對以上的論點（某個大陸還是島的上
升率小於海平面）
題目問：那個hypothesis跟下面那段話的關係跟功能是什麼

‧蜘蛛變色，他的獵食者仍可分辨保護色的差別，所以蜘蛛變色沒用。

說最近觀察到海平線上升（出現第一個反白），說因為這幾年以來，北極的冰融化比結凍
的還要多，所已造成海平面上升很合理，但是突然說到最近海岸線的上升觀察到的結果並
不會因為上述觀察到的現象而有所牴觸，因為地層不斷的活動使得一些區域還是不斷的因
為造山運動而上升（這句也是反白的）。
題目就問這兩句的目的是甚麼。
‧nausea和某個level之間的關係，某level愈高，也愈有機會nausea，問這是建立在什
麼assumption

求很大(也一格)，最後說如果統計學家很鄙視那些不懂統計的生物學家而不願意幫忙，這
樣的需求狀況就會"更加惡化了exacerbate"
‧氣候變遷將會持續,而現在已被氣候變遷影響的文化的消失更能證明氣候變遷將持續

‧「田」的圖案，從左下點走到右上點，只能往右或往上，若直到把所有可能走法都走
過才會重複路徑，連續走48天經過中間點的次數為多少?
‧一個3X3X3的立方體，由20顆紅色和7個藍色的一模一樣大小的cubic組成，就是1X1X1
，問說怎樣的情況底下紅色區域會佔表面積的比例最大，答案是8/9
‧有77個連續奇數，平均數是312，問說數列中最小的那個數字是多少，其實是比較題，
但是答案是equal所以就算出來就好
‧圖表題就考說H city每年開10mile平均會需要的時間，趨勢就分成早上和傍晚，第一
題是問說哪一年total 時間跟他的前一年比起來會increase最多，就是進入第二年的那時
候。
有一題則是整個傍晚的走勢當中，median最接進多少（記得是27）；
另外一題是range是多少
‧跟A年比起來B年增加了35%，跟A年比起來C年增加了78%，問說那跟B年比起來C年是增
加了幾被，跟43%比較（答案是小於）
‧ 一個數列，N至少大於100，平均是56，如果其中十個數字的平均是60，那麼剩下N-10
個數的平均最接進多少，答案是56，精算結果是55.55555....

Towers apartment complex to its manager.
"One month ago, all the showerheads in the first three buildings of the
Sunnyside Towers complex were modified to restrict maximum water flow to
one-third of what it used to be. Although actual readings of water usage
before and after the adjustment are not yet available, the change will
obviously result in a considerable savings for Sunnyside Corporation, since
the corporation must pay for water each month. Except for a few complaints
about low water pressure, no problems with showers have been reported since
the adjustment. I predict that modifying showerheads to restrict water flow
throughout all twelve buildings in the Sunnyside Towers complex will increase
our profits even more dramatically."

Books.
"We recommend that Monarch Books open a café in its store. Monarch, having
been in business at the same location for more than twenty years, has a large
customer base because it is known for its wide selection of books on all
subjects. Clearly, opening the café would attract more customers. Space
could be made for the café by discontinuing the children's book section,
which will probably become less popular given that the most recent national
census indicated a significant decline in the percentage of the population
under age ten. Opening a café will allow Monarch to attract more customers
and better compete with Regal Books, which recently opened its own café."

[74] The president of Grove College has recommended that the college abandon
its century-old tradition of all-female education and begin admitting men.
Pointing to other all-female colleges that experienced an increase in
applications after adopting coeducation, the president argues that
coeducation would lead to a significant increase in applications and
enrollment. However, the director of the alumnae association opposes the
plan. Arguing that all-female education is essential to the very identity of
the college, the director cites annual surveys of incoming students in which
these students say that the school's all-female status was the primary reason
they selected Grove. The director also points to a survey of Grove alumnae in
which a majority of respondents strongly favored keeping the college all
female.
