Recently I’ve been thinking about initiating an interview practicing group. Is anyone interested in holding a mock interview? Here is the initial idea in my mind:
1. We form a group of say 5~6 people.
2. Each of us prepares questions that you expect to encounter in an interview AND the answers to these questions.
3. We take turn being the interviewee and rests of us will be the interviewers.
4. The language used will be, of course, English. This will be a non-online, in-person activity.
The purpose of this activity is to simulate the tension and stress raised when one speaks in front of a group of people, especially these who are to evaluate you.
From my past experience, I know people wish one or two native speakers to be present in such study or training group. Unfortunately I have to confess that I am currently unable to find any. However, I believe this training group will still be valuable as we can always share our interview experiences and exchange thoughts. There is an old Chinese saying: Combined intellectual power of three cobblers win over pig brother bright…oh I mean, the great consultant Zhu Ge Liang.
