[Talk] Gomoku - not as easy as you think

Recently for some reason I've suddenly gained interest in playing gomoku.
I don't know why but I know I've played it when I was a child and
it was easy to learn and quite fun playing against my siblings.
I haven't played it for a long long time and in the past few days I have
played a few games on ptt...well let's just say it's definitely not as easy
as you thought. Haha
You need to be strategic and at the same time mindful of your opponent. You
need to predict possible moves way ahead to be able to prepare for your
attack and defense...and your final goal is simply get 5 gomoku pieces in a
row.
Apparently black has a definite advantage over white because black goes first
and if you've mastered the game quite well, you will know that black can 100%
defeat white. This seems quite unfair to white so various rules are developed
in order to make the game fairer. Rules such as black cannot have double 3s
and double 4s or you can't have 6 or more in a row. White, on the other hand,
does not have these rules.
When I was playing it as a child, I certainly didn't know these rules and
I probably thought to myself "This game is so easy, I must be so good at it."
Haha but now it's not as easy as that.
Well hopefully with more pratice, I'll be better at it. And I certainly look
forward to my first gomoku win on ptt. lol
PS:If anyone would like a game with me, I'm always happy to play~
(if you don't mind playing against an amateur like me)
