Hi guys, I am trying to improve my English skills in these days, so I force
myself to make posts in English and talk to the ramdom foreigners on the
street once I find them.
Once I get any question, I google it when I come home. But there are still
some questions I am not pretty sure.
1.Is this sentence correct?
「I am afraid of talking to the person who has the company of asian friends.」
2.How to express that I am in the seventh year of the university?
Can I say:
「I am in my seventh grade.」?
3.Is there any grammatical fail?
「These stores just has been open since 1 year ago.」
4.Can I say:
「Does your stomach feel discomfortable?」
「My leg is/feels pain.」
I am not sure that can a single organ 「feels」?
5.Can I ask like this, if I want to make sure whether there is any bone in
the chicken meal of the restaurant?
「Does your chicken has bones?」 or「Is there any bone in your chicken?」
6.Is it correct?
「If some terms involved, I will do less well than daily talking.」
7.Is it correct in grammar?
I often said so, but they didn't seem to know what I was talking about.
「The weather is hot, isn't it?」 or 「Is the weather hot for you?」
8.If I want to express it will take you about 30 minutes from here to there
by driving car.
Can I say:
「It is about 30 minutes driving distance from here.」
9.Can I say:
「My girlfriend has almost made a project/plan/schedule.」
If I want to express she has almost done every prepared work of going abroad?
10.Is it correct to say:
「I have a stereotype that...」
11.If I want to describe someone has to bear or against the problems which
are due to cruel society, can I say:
「He has to face the bad policy(or something else)...」
12.Is it correct?
「I am used to separating huge hamburger into its' ingredients before I begin
to eat.」
13.I was talking to a Vietnam girl, and I thought of vietnam had been ruled
by France. So I asked her:「Vietnam has been ruled by France, so do you speak
Franch?」
She answered me:「ruled 100 years ago.」
I think it is definitely wrong in grammer, but I have no idea how to fix it.
There might be no doubt if she said:「It happened 100 years ago.」
But if she insisted on expressing it with the word "rule" ,should she say:
「They ruled 100 years ago.」 or 「They has ruled 100 years ago.」
14.Can I say:
「The traffic in this neighborhood is also terrible to me, I am even a
Taiwanese!」
15.Can I always use the sentence "In this area" instead of "in this
neighborhood"?
I think these are enough for a post. In my experience, if I ask too many
questions at once, some of them would be missed.
Thank you guys, for any help you would offer.
