It's time to go back to work.
A friend of mine, during her children's summer, used to make up that there was "superhero camp" that was an activity like going to the comic book store, to the beach or to the museum.
A friend has them to visit every museum in the city over the summer.
As I got into the more serious aspects of a play, "high camp" would be the word that I'd use to describe what they have kids do.
They do the zoo.
They make up bizarre costumes.
They do the Art Museum or the Museum of Natural History.
They dress up as these superheroes and they wander around.
No one would ever go to this type of thing as an adult.
I think it has more to do with being able to skip school and also being able to use the excuse of being bored.
When I did high camp as a kid, it was IKEA, and we'd head down there and wander around and buy some awesome kitschy stuff and then get silly and turn our bedrooms into their own little IKEA.
Or I'd go with my best friend and my grandmother to visit the aquarium, just to get in the water.
Not any of these activities is wrong and every kid should get a chance to do them.
