平井堅演唱過很多電影與日劇的主題曲，並獲得日本「情歌王子」的封號，例如經典歌曲
《輕閉雙眼》是2004年日本電影《在世界的中心呼喊愛情》主題曲，令平井堅的事業成就
升至顛峰。累計銷售額突破100萬，這首歌曲與電影互相呼應，在日本社會形成了社會現
象。除日本本土外，尤其於中、港、澳、台、韓...等地均累積了大量的樂迷。2004年底
推出的原創專輯大碟《情深意堅》更是攻下榜首，總銷售量突破200萬張，奠定平井堅在
樂壇地位。
