Boston acquired 30-year-old Japanese right-hander Naoyuki Uwasawa from the Rays
for cash considerations, as first reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan. The Red Sox h
ave confirmed that they acquired Uwasawa in what the team called a “minor leagu
e trade.” He was not immediately placed on the 40-man roster.
