身為女人，是否就當不成畫家？二十世紀初，儘管歐洲畫壇新興思潮翻湧，女性仍被看輕
。就在這樣矛盾的大氛圍裡，誕生了女性藝術先鋒：寶拉。她的思想前衛、筆法獨特，在
大家襲用浪漫筆觸描繪風景時，她探訪布衣婦孺，豪邁刻劃人情。做事不按常規的她，較
同期德國畫家更早步入現代繪畫，但也因其鮮明性格，讓她處處受到打壓，短瞬三十一年
的人生並未獲畫壇重視。儘管如此，寶拉仍不改其志，展現出超越性別的創作實力，身後
留下七百五十幅油畫與上千張畫稿，成就藝術史上難以抹滅的女人畫。
This movie, set in the 19th and 20th Century, follows the life of the german
artist Paula Modersohn-Becker. It especially focuses on her most productive
years in Worpswede (Germany) and Paris (France). One central topic is the
discrimination of women in the world of art, while the story also follows
Moderson-Beckers relationships with other artists and poets of her time,
friends and family.
